Nature of the Work
Piomak was awarded a contract to prepare the Conceptual, Basic and Detailed design works intended for an intake structure, intake Nile Pumping Stations (NPS) and a Booster Pumping Station (BPS), as well as a discharge channel of 2.500 meters to be a part of the “Irrigation System” at the Al Shamaliyah project, north Sudan.
Piomak completed the engineering and detailed design of a project to furnish 100 m3/s of raw water to the irrigation system with total 60 km of irrigation channel.
The design work also includes a complete installation of electromechanical equipment intended for the 1st phase of the plant with a capacity of 20 m³/s.
Two major design changes were made to the intake structure and the pumping stations to the satisfaction of the client.
